“Professional grade test results at your fingertips, 24/7: private, secure and at home.”
Just before the pandemic became a reality, hellob.io started the development of what now has become our proprietary ‘hellob.io rapid test scanner’ (pat. pending 63/187,742).
The scanner is created with AI Computer Vision technology and transforms the camera of your own mobile phone into a professional grade rapid test scanner and allows you to read the results.
Originally created to objectively determine the results of rapid tests for e.g. Vitamin D and the likes, currently also employed to scan Covid Rapid Antigen Tests.
Validation of software
The determination of the result of a Covid rapid antigen test potentially has a big impact on your life. The more reason to determine it as accurate and objectively as possible. For that purpose, we have performed an elaborate study, in conjunction with the Dutch government, to verify and validate the performance of the software. Following strict protocols on how to perform such a study. Before commencing the study, a threshold of 99% was set to determine pass or fail. The outcome of the study is an accuracy of 99,7%, whereas the remaining 0,3% has provided insights on the basis of which the scanner software can be improved to score even closer to 100%. In the validation study, the software has been validated against the trained human eyes of healthcare professionals at a GGD (Dutch community health institute) test location.
Works with any line based or colour-based rapid test (home and professional use)
Compatible with swab, saliva, blood or urine based samples
No need for professionals to be involved at an individual level. Can be done at the scale of the availability of test materials.
Results are provided instantly after sending in the sample through making a picture of the rapid test
Tests can be done in the comfort of your own home.
Lower threshold when compared to visiting test centers.
No need to travel for testing, thus lower risk of transmitting the virus.
No need for professionals to be involved at an individual level. No need for full population PCR-testing if tested with Antigen frequent enough.
Digitizing the generation of test results allows for actively steering in test type and frequency. E.g. in combination with self-assessments.
